Working around North London, we get to work on a wide variety of fantastic garden projects, ranging in size, from smaller terraced gardens to acres of land. Utilising our expertise, we transform these gardens to maximise space and add design features that compliment your home. With summer just around the corner you may be thinking about giving your garden a bit of a spruce up ready for the warmer months and we are going to show you exactly how you can achieve this.
One of the most effective ways to give your garden a makeover is to bring it to life with some beautiful flowers to add a pop of colour and create an inviting space. One of our favourite flowers to plant is the ‘Japanese anemone’, surviving in both sun and shade, this flower blooms beautifully whatever the weather. The outdoor garden space should be an extension of your home, which means it should be a place where you can relax and feel at peace. Adding plants and flowers can give a fresh feel to your garden, at a minimal cost.
Next is to create a social space within the garden. By adding a seating area for you and your family and friends to gather around, you can instantly enhance the space and create a place to enjoy throughout the day and when the evening starts to draw in too. Instead of a formal dining table outside, you could add a seating area such as an outdoor sofa with a coffee table to create an area for nibbles and drinks in the warmer months. Add a pergola and just like that you have your very own outdoor living space. It’s important to make sure you have a flat surface available to place this furniture on – you could add wooden decking for a rustic feel or porcelain paving for a long lasting finish that is both hard wearing and stylish.
Another great way to upgrade your garden is by installing a fire pit. The fire pit will not only add warmth to your garden but also bring light to the area in the evening. Paired with some feature garden lights, your space will look and feel homely in an instant. Fire pits also increase your garden usage in the winter months, as well as the summer.
If a firepit doesn’t take your fancy, why not add a hot tub or an outdoor sauna to enjoy some downtime after a long day at work or to socialise and relax with friends at the weekend? Outside wellness spaces have risen in popularity over the past couple of years and it’s clear to see why. We recently created an outdoor wellness space for our North London client to create a slice of paradise just outside their own back door.
If you are a fitness fanatic, an outdoor gym is a great use of the outside area, enabling the ability to workout both conveniently and comfortably with your own space and privacy. All Done Design can create a home gym that is perfectly designed to suit your fitness needs and requirements..
Lastly, by adding glass doors to the room leading out to your garden you can show off the wonderful outdoor space you have, instantly opening up the room and creating a flow throughout the downstairs space. We love adding glass doors to our projects to create a more social atmosphere, as pictured below, getting your house ready for all the hosting this summer.
